Current Openings:

Pre-Litigation & Intake Attorney – Personal Injury

This role will serve as the firm’s lead pre-litigation attorney, with primary responsibility for demand strategy, settlement negotiations, and mentoring the pre-litigation team. This role is ideal for someone who loves strategy, meaningful client interaction and driving case value.

In this position, you’ll have a direct hand in shaping the early trajectory of our cases, setting them up for maximum value and success. You’ll be a trusted guide for clients from the very beginning, ensuring they receive the care, clarity, and advocacy they deserve during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Key Responsibilities

Case Strategy & Negotiation

• Take ownership of pre-litigation strategy from day one.

• Craft clear, persuasive demand packages that reflect the full value of each case.

• Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters and see the results of your work in real outcomes for clients.

Intake & Case Selection

• Work closely with the intake team to evaluate potential cases and identify high-quality matters.

• Play a key role in intake decisions and case valuation, with meaningful input into which matters the firm accepts and how they are positioned pre-suit.

File Readiness & Case Building

• Analyze medical records, accident reports, and supporting documentation to build strong, demand-ready files.

• Apply and refine firm standards so demands go out timely, complete, and positioned for maximum value.

Client Communication & Advocacy

• Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients during the pre-litigation phase.

• Provide consistent, clear, and compassionate updates that build trust and satisfaction.

Mentorship & Leadership

• Mentor intake and pre-litigation staff on best practices in case development, communication, and workflow.

• Help uphold timelines and performance standards in a way that supports both quality and efficiency.

Collaboration with Litigation

• Coordinate with the litigation team on cases that need to be filed, ensuring clean, well-documented handoffs.

• Play a key role in setting litigators up with organized, thoroughly developed files.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active license with the State Bar of Michigan

• 3+ years of Personal Injury or negotiation-focused legal experience preferred

• Experience handling pre-suit personal injury cases, including negotiating settlements and managing case progression.

• Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, standards-driven team

• Commitment to client service, accountability, and ethical advocacy
  

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $105,000 – $130,000, commensurate with experience

• Bonuses & Incentives: Settlement-based bonuses plus discretionary team bonuses tied to client satisfaction

• Work Environment: Full-time, Ann Arbor based role, primarily in-office with the opportunity to incorporate hybrid days after a successful onboarding period
